The Colombian Primera A, also known as Liga BetPlay due to sponsorship reasons, is the top-tier professional football league in Colombia. Founded in 1948, it is administered by the Colombian Football Federation (Federación Colombiana de Fútbol). The league is considered one of the strongest in South America, and it has been ranked among the best by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS).
The Primera A operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the Colombian Primera B, the second-tier football league.
