Brasiliense Futebol Clube, commonly known as Brasiliense, is a renowned football club based in Taguatinga, Federal District, Brazil. Founded on August 1, 2000, the club has made significant strides in the Brazilian football scene, despite its relatively short history.

Brasiliense's inception was a result of Atlético Taguatinga's financial struggles, which led to the club's purchase by Luiz Estevão, a prominent Brazilian businessman and politician. The new owner rebranded the club as Brasiliense Futebol Clube, aiming to create a team that would represent the Federal District in national competitions.

The club's colors, yellow and green, mirror the national colors of Brazil, reflecting its aspiration to become a symbol of Brazilian football. The team's mascot, a fierce alligator, is a nod to the local fauna of the region.

Brasiliense's rise to prominence was swift. Within a year of its establishment, the club won the Campeonato Brasiliense, the top football league of the Federal District.
