Football Club Dnipro-1 is a professional football club based in Dnipro, Ukraine. The club was established in 2017, following the dissolution of the historic FC Dnipro, which had been one of Ukraine's most successful clubs but faced financial difficulties and was eventually dissolved. FC Dnipro-1 was founded by Yuriy Bereza, a member of the Ukrainian parliament and former commander of the Dnipro-1 Regiment, from which the club gets its name.
The club's first season was in the Ukrainian Second League, the third tier of Ukrainian football, where they finished in first place and earned promotion to the First League. The following season, they continued their rapid ascent, finishing second and earning promotion to the Ukrainian Premier League, the top tier of Ukrainian football, for the 2019-2020 season.
Despite being a relatively new club, FC Dnipro-1 has managed to establish itself as a competitive force in Ukrainian football. The team's rapid rise through the ranks of Ukrainian football is a testament to the club's strong management and talented squad. The club's colours are blue and white, reflecting the colours of the historic FC Dnipro.
FC Dnipro-1 plays its home games at the Dnipro-Arena, a modern stadium with a seating capacity of over 31,000 spectators. The stadium, which was initially built for the historic FC Dnipro, is one of the most modern and comfortable in Ukraine, with excellent facilities for both players and fans.
The club's emblem features a stylized version of the historic coat of arms of the city of Dnipro, with a football in the center, symbolizing the club's commitment to the city and its footballing tradition. The club's motto, "One for all and all for one", reflects its community-oriented approach and its commitment to teamwork and solidarity.
FC Dnipro-1 has a strong youth development program, with a focus on nurturing local talent and promoting them to the first team. This commitment to youth development is part of the club's long-term strategy to build a sustainable and competitive team.
Despite its short history, FC Dnipro-1 has shown ambition and a commitment to achieving success in Ukrainian football. The club's rapid rise through the ranks of Ukrainian football and its commitment to youth development and community engagement have made it a team to watch in the coming years.
