About Dukla Praha
Dukla Praha is a renowned football club based in Prague, the capital city of the Czech Republic. Founded in 1948, the club has a rich history that spans over seven decades, during which it has made significant contributions to the Czech football scene.
Originally named ATK Praha, the club was initially a part of the Czechoslovak Army, and its players were mostly military personnel. In 1956, it was renamed Dukla Praha and began to establish itself as a force to be reckoned with in Czechoslovak football. The club's golden era came in the 1960s and 1980s, during which it won numerous league titles and domestic cups.
Dukla Praha has won 11 Czechoslovak First League titles, making it one of the most successful clubs in the history of the competition. The club also has eight Czechoslovak Cup titles to its name. On the international stage, Dukla Praha has had notable success in the European Cup, reaching the semi-finals in the 1966-67 season.
Despite its success, the club faced a period of decline following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia in 1993. It was relegated from the top-tier league and even faced bankruptcy. However, in 2001, Dukla Praha was revived through a merger with another club, FK Pribram. The club returned to the top flight, the Czech First League, in 2011 and has been a regular participant since then.
Dukla Praha's home ground is the Juliska Stadium, located in the Dejvice area of Prague. The stadium, with a capacity of over 8,000 spectators, has been the club's home since its inception and has witnessed many memorable moments in Dukla Praha's history.
