Kelty Hearts

Kelty Hearts Football Club, often simply referred to as Kelty Hearts, is a semi-professional football club based in the village of Kelty in Fife, Scotland. The club was founded in 1975, and since then, it has become a prominent name in Scottish football, known for its passionate community support and commitment to the sport.

Kelty Hearts initially played in the junior leagues of Scottish football, where they enjoyed considerable success. The club won numerous titles, including the Fife League, the East Region Super League, and the East of Scotland Cup. However, their ambitions extended beyond the junior leagues, and in 2017, they made the significant decision to transition to the senior leagues.

This move proved to be a turning point in the club's history. They joined the East of Scotland Football League, where they continued to demonstrate their prowess on the pitch. In their first season, they won the league title, earning promotion to the Lowland Football League, the fifth tier of Scottish football. In the 2020-2021 season, Kelty Hearts won the Lowland League title, which gave them the opportunity to participate in the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) pyramid play-offs. They triumphed in the play-offs, securing promotion to the SPFL for the first time in the club's history. This achievement marked a significant milestone for Kelty Hearts, as they became the first club from Fife to play in the SPFL since the league's formation in 2013.

Kelty Hearts' home ground is New Central Park, a stadium with a capacity of around 2,000 spectators. The club's colours are maroon and white, and their crest features a heart, symbolising their name and the passion they bring to the game. The club's nickname is "The Maroon Machine", reflecting their powerful performances on the pitch.

Throughout their history, Kelty Hearts have demonstrated a strong commitment to their local community. The club runs several youth teams, providing opportunities for young players to develop their skills and potentially progress to the senior team.
