King's Lynn Town

King's Lynn Town Football Club, often simply referred to as "The Linnets," is a semi-professional football club based in King's Lynn, Norfolk, England. The club was established in 2010 following the dissolution of the original King's Lynn FC, which had been in existence since 1879. The new club was formed by a consortium of local businesspeople who were determined to keep football alive in the town.

The Linnets play their home games at The Walks Stadium, a venue with a capacity of 8,200, making it one of the largest non-league football grounds in the country. The club's colours are blue and gold, and their badge features a linnet bird, a nod to the club's nickname.

King's Lynn Town FC has had a roller-coaster journey since its inception. The club started life in the United Counties League, quickly gaining promotion to the Northern Premier League Division One South in their first season. The Linnets continued to climb the English football pyramid, achieving promotion to the Southern League Premier Division in 2013, and later to the National League North in 2019.

The club's success has been driven by a series of skilled managers and talented players. Gary Setchell, the club's first manager, led the team to two promotions in his seven-year tenure. His successor, Ian Culverhouse, has also been instrumental in the club's rise, guiding them to the National League, the fifth tier of English football, for the first time in their history.

King's Lynn Town FC has had its fair share of memorable moments. One of the most notable was their 2019-2020 National League North campaign, where they finished as runners-up but were promoted to the National League after the season was curtailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The club also has a thriving youth development system, with several academy graduates making the step up to the first team.
