About Moss

Moss Fotballklubb, commonly known as Moss FK or simply Moss, is a Norwegian football club based in the town of Moss, Norway. Established in 1906, the club has a rich history spanning over a century, making it one of the oldest football clubs in Norway.

Moss FK has had a rollercoaster journey in Norwegian football, experiencing both highs and lows. The club's golden era was in the late 1980s when they won the Norwegian top division, now known as Eliteserien, in 1987. This victory remains the pinnacle of the club's achievements, marking their only top-tier league title to date. Moss FK also reached the Norwegian Cup final twice, in 1983 and 1989, but ended up as runners-up on both occasions.

The club's success in the 1980s was followed by a period of decline. Moss FK struggled to maintain their top-tier status and was relegated to the second division at the end of the 1991 season. Since then, the club has been bouncing between the first and second tiers of Norwegian football. Despite these challenges, Moss FK has managed to produce several talented players who have gone on to represent Norway at the international level.

Moss FK's home ground is the Melløs Stadion, a venue with a capacity of approximately 10,000 spectators. The stadium, which was opened in 1939, has been the club's home since its inception and has witnessed many memorable moments in Moss FK's history.

The club's traditional colors are yellow and black, and their emblem features a stylized version of the town's coat of arms, which includes a yellow rose on a black background. The club's nickname is "Kråkene," which translates to "The Crows" in English.

Over the years, Moss FK has built a reputation for its strong community ties and commitment to youth development. The club runs several youth teams and has a well-established academy system. Despite their struggles on the pitch, Moss FK has remained a beloved institution in the town of Moss, with a dedicated fan base that continues to support the club through thick and thin.

In recent years, Moss FK has been working hard to regain its former glory. The club has been investing in player development and infrastructure improvements, with the aim of returning to the top tier of Norwegian football. Despite the challenges, the spirit of Moss FK remains undeterred, embodying the resilience and determination that has characterized the club throughout its history.

In summary, Moss FK is a historic Norwegian football club with a storied past and a hopeful future. With a dedicated fan base, a commitment to youth development, and a desire to return to the top of Norwegian football, Moss FK continues to be an important part of the sporting landscape in Moss and Norway as a whole.
