Olimpija Ljubljana is a professional football club based in Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia. The club was originally founded in 1911 but was dissolved in 2005 due to financial difficulties. It was re-established in 2005 as NK Bezigrad and later renamed Olimpija Ljubljana in 2008. The club's history is marked by numerous ups and downs, but it has always been a symbol of Slovenian football.
Olimpija Ljubljana's colours are green and white, representing the city's coat of arms. The club's mascot, a dragon, is also a symbol of Ljubljana. The team plays its home matches at the Stozice Stadium, a modern facility with a capacity of over 16,000 spectators.
Throughout its history, Olimpija Ljubljana has had several successful periods. The club won four Slovenian Championships, two Slovenian Cups, and two Slovenian Supercups in the 1990s. After its re-establishment, the club quickly climbed up the ranks and returned to the top Slovenian league, the PrvaLiga, in 2009. In the 2015-2016 season, Olimpija Ljubljana won the PrvaLiga title, marking their first major achievement after the re-establishment.
