Rijnvogels

Football Club Rijnvogels, also known as FC Rijnvogels, is a semi-professional football club based in Katwijk, a coastal town in the province of South Holland, Netherlands. The club was founded on July 24, 2004, making it one of the newer clubs in Dutch football. Despite its relatively recent establishment, FC Rijnvogels has made significant strides in the Dutch football scene.

The club was born out of the merger of two local football clubs, namely KRV and MVKV. The aim was to create a stronger, more competitive team that could represent the town of Katwijk in higher leagues. The club's name, Rijnvogels, is a tribute to the river 'Rijn' that flows through the town and 'vogels', which means birds in Dutch, symbolizing freedom and ambition.

FC Rijnvogels competes in the Saturday Hoofdklasse, which is one of the highest levels of amateur football in the Netherlands. The club's home ground is Sportpark De Kooltuin, which has a seating capacity of 2,500 spectators. The team's colors are red and white, and they are fondly referred to as 'De Vogels' (The Birds) by their fans.
