Bangkok Glass Football Club is a professional football club based in Pathum Thani, Thailand. The club was established in 2006 by the glass manufacturing company, Bangkok Glass Group, which is where the club derived its name. The club is also known by its nickname, "The Glass Rabbits", which is a direct translation of its Thai name, "Krung Thep Maha Nakhon".
Bangkok Glass FC was formed after the company purchased the football division of Krung Thai Bank FC, which was a successful club in the Thai Premier League. The acquisition allowed Bangkok Glass to start in the top tier of Thai football, marking the beginning of its journey in the professional football scene.
The club's home ground is the Leo Stadium, a modern facility with a capacity of approximately 13,000 spectators. The stadium is known for its distinctive design, featuring a glass-fronted main stand, reflecting the club's association with the glass industry.
Since its inception, Bangkok Glass FC has been a competitive force in Thai football. The club has consistently finished in the top half of the Thai Premier League table, with its highest finish being second place in 2009. Despite not winning the league title, the club has had success in domestic cup competitions, winning the Thai FA Cup in 2014 and the Thai League Cup in 2010.
The club's playing style is characterized by a strong emphasis on possession-based football, with a focus on technical skill and creativity. This approach has attracted a number of talented players to the club, both domestically and internationally.
Bangkok Glass FC has also shown a commitment to youth development, with its academy being one of the most respected in Thailand. The academy has produced several players who have gone on to represent the Thai national team, further enhancing the club's reputation.
Despite its relatively short history, Bangkok Glass FC has established itself as a significant entity in Thai football. The club's commitment to attractive football, youth development, and community engagement has earned it a dedicated fan base. As the club continues to grow and evolve, it remains committed to its vision of becoming a leading force in Thai football.
