Panathinaikos' emblem, a green shamrock, and its nickname, "Prasini" (The Greens), reflect the club's deep-rooted association with the color green. The club's home ground is the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium, named after a former club president and located in the heart of Athens.
Panathinaikos has a storied history in Greek football, having won numerous national titles.
