Pusamania Borneo Football Club, also known as Borneo FC, is a professional football club based in Samarinda, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. Established in 2014, the club has quickly risen to prominence in the Indonesian football scene and is currently competing in the top tier of Indonesian football, the Liga 1.
The club was initially formed by a group of passionate football fans known as Pusamania, who were supporters of the already existing club, Putra Samarinda. Dissatisfied with the management of Putra Samarinda, the fans decided to establish their own club, hence the name Pusamania Borneo. The club's creation marked a new era in Indonesian football, where fans took the initiative to create and manage their own football club.
Pusamania Borneo's journey to the top tier of Indonesian football was swift. In their debut season in 2014, they won the Liga Indonesia Premier Division, the second tier of Indonesian football, earning them promotion to the Super League. Since then, they have consistently performed well in the top tier, establishing themselves as one of the strong teams in Indonesian football.
The club's home ground is the Segiri Samarinda Stadium, a venue with a capacity of over 16,000 spectators. The stadium is known for its vibrant atmosphere, with the club's passionate fan base, also known as Pesut Etam, creating a raucous environment during home matches.
Pusamania Borneo's colors are orange and black, reflecting the colors of the Bornean Orangutan, an endangered species native to Borneo. The club's logo also features an image of the orangutan, symbolizing the club's commitment to environmental conservation and the protection of endangered species.
Over the years, Pusamania Borneo has attracted a number of talented players and coaches, both locally and internationally. The club's philosophy is to develop young Indonesian talents while also bringing in experienced players to guide them. This blend of youth and experience has been a key factor in the club's success.
Despite being a relatively young club, Pusamania Borneo has shown ambition and a strong desire to make a mark in Indonesian football. They have invested in youth development, infrastructure, and have a clear vision for the future. The club's rapid rise and success serve as an inspiration to other football clubs in Indonesia and beyond.
In conclusion, Pusamania Borneo FC is more than just a football club. It represents the passion and spirit of its fans, the city of Samarinda, and the entire region of East Kalimantan. The club's commitment to football excellence, fan engagement, and environmental conservation sets it apart in the landscape of Indonesian football. As they continue to grow and develop, Pusamania Borneo FC is undoubtedly a club to watch in the coming years.
