Club Villa Dálmine, commonly known as Villa Dálmine or simply Dálmine, is a professional football club based in Campana, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The club was founded on March 21, 1957, by workers of the Dálmine-Sapag company, a prominent steel tube manufacturing company, from which the club derives its name.
Villa Dálmine has spent most of its history in the lower divisions of Argentine football, but it has also had periods in the Primera B Nacional, the second tier of the Argentine football league system. The club's highest achievement came in the 1980s when they reached the second division, where they competed for several seasons.
The team's colors are violet and white, inspired by the Italian football club Fiorentina. The club's home ground is the El Coliseo stadium, which has a capacity of approximately 11,000 spectators. The stadium is known for its distinctive violet-colored seats, reflecting the club's colors.
Despite its modest size and resources, Villa Dálmine has a reputation for developing young talent. Many players have started their careers at the club before moving on to larger clubs in Argentina and abroad. The club's youth academy is well-regarded, and it has produced several players who have gone on to have successful professional careers.
Villa Dálmine's fan base, while not as large as some of the more famous clubs in Argentina, is passionate and loyal. The fans are known as "violetas" or "villeros", and they are renowned for their enthusiastic support of the team, regardless of its fortunes on the pitch.
In recent years, Villa Dálmine has been striving to return to the upper echelons of Argentine football. The club has invested in improving its facilities and strengthening its squad, with the aim of achieving promotion to the Primera División, the top tier of Argentine football.
Despite the challenges and obstacles it has faced, Villa Dálmine remains a beloved institution in Campana and a symbol of the city's sporting heritage. The club's history, its commitment to youth development, and its passionate fan base make it a unique and important part of Argentine football.
