The club's name, Mačva, is derived from the Mačva region in western Serbia, where the city of Šabac is located. The club's emblem, a red and white shield with a black bull, is a nod to the region's agricultural heritage. The bull symbolizes strength and determination, qualities that the club has consistently displayed throughout its history.
Mačva's home ground is the Stadion Mačva, which has a seating capacity of 7,000. The club's supporters are known as the "Crveni Đavoli" (Red Devils), who are renowned for their passionate support and loyalty to the club.
Throughout its history, Mačva has had several notable achievements. The club has competed in the top tier of Serbian football, the Serbian SuperLiga, on multiple occasions. Their most successful period came in the late 1940s and early 1950s, when they won the Serbian League West, a regional league within the Yugoslav football system, multiple times. In recent years, Mačva has been a regular participant in the Serbian First League, the second tier of Serbian football.
Despite facing numerous challenges, including financial difficulties and relegation battles, Mačva has always managed to bounce back, demonstrating the resilience and fighting spirit that the club is known for. The club's youth academy has also produced several talented players who have gone on to have successful careers in both domestic and international football.
Mačva's traditional colors are red and white, which are prominently featured in the club's home kit. The club's away kit usually features a combination of black and white. Over the years, Mačva has had several kit manufacturers and sponsors, reflecting the club's efforts to adapt and evolve in the ever-changing world of football.
In terms of rivalries, Mačva has a fierce rivalry with FK Metalac Gornji Milanovac, a club based in the nearby city of Gornji Milanovac. Matches between the two clubs, known as the "Mačva-Metalac derby", are highly anticipated events that draw large crowds.
Despite its ups and downs, FK Mačva Šabac remains a beloved institution in the Mačva region.
